Project Recovery
Project recovery can be treated like any other crisis management topic, but, like crisis mgmt, the key is being prepared. If you are prepared enough, the execution should be simple. This Presentation will deliver some theory on this topic in recent literature (de-escalation, etc.), but also discuss practical applications from the PMO perspective, and what PMs can take with them in the event they are called upon to plan or execute a project recovery.

Presented By Ben Merritt
Ben Merritt is an IS Program Manager with 7-Eleven where he manages project managers on programs ranging from Oracle ERP enhancements, gasoline inventory and accounting systems, SSN remediation and application rationalization. For the past two years, Ben has been involved in project recoveries for multi-million dollar projects. He began his career in project management with Software Architects in 1999 managing at all levels of the systems development life cycle for such firms as Republic Insurance, Pier 1, GameStop and the Volunteer Center of Dallas. Prior to that he was in procurement for the Dallas Market Center and spent 8 years with IBM. Ben holds degrees in economics and information systems. He’s been PMP certified since 2005. Ben lives in Trophy Club with his wife and two children and is a not-so-recent Jeopardy champion.
